We have one more spot available on our 5 day NPORS Novice Appointed Persons for Lifting Operations course week commencing 8th October!

This course is for candidates that already have experience in Crane operation and a Slinger/Signaller qualification.

Our resident instructor, Glen Randles, is a practicing Appointed Person with years of experience to call on. Glen covers the more modern ways of constructing Lift Plans using free software, so anyone joining the course will benefit from bringing a laptop along.

Slinger Signaller Training

The job of a slinger signaller is one of the most important jobs on site. Working alongside crane operators to provide safe direction and supervision. It requires skill, diligence and concentration.

The slinger signaller will act as the eyes and ears of the crane operator, who is likely to have an obstructed view of their  surroundings. This obstructed view increases the risks involved with loading, lifting and generally operating the crane, and so they need a slinger signaller to communicate via a series of hand signals to assist with manoeuvres.

As with any job that involves work equipment, slinger signallers must be trained to the required legal levels and competent to carry out their job safely and effectively.

  • The regulations affecting their job
  • The operational requirements of the lifting task.
  • The features and safe use of the equipment and machinery.

Lorry Loader Training In Gloucester

Lorry Loader training courses provide candidates with the knowledge and practical skills involved in operating a Lorry Loader to GAR or NPORS standard.

All candidates will be trained and tested by one of GAR Training Services fully accredited Instructors.

Training can take place at your own site for your convenience.

The duration of the course depends on the number of candidates and the experience level of each candidate i.e. Novice, Refresher or Experienced Worker Test (EWT) – see our website for more details on training.

In general our novice courses consist of 2 days training which include both practical and theoretical tests. This is based on 3 Candidates with 1 Machine and 1 Instructor.

Successful candidates will receive a certificate and, or competent operators card valid for 3 years.
